Misty Mountain Hop Sweater
PATTERN IN PDF
I love everything about cables. I love the playfulness of the knitting and the finished result, delicate, intricate and, to my eye, ravishingly beautiful. That being said, I find they can be a bit tricky to pull off . Wearing a full-fledged Aran sweater on any given day can feel too much of a statement (‘Where’s the yacht, ol’ sailor?), which means I end up opting for simpler looking, easier knits when picking up an outfit on any given weekday rushing through the door at 8am.
I’ve longed wished to design a cable sweater that felt both legit and wearable at the same time, and after much fine-tuning, I think I have it. This is my Misty Mountain Hop Sweater, a design inspired by the great gansey tradition, with a few nods to aran knitting and a modern silhouette.
It’s designed in the loftiest and sweetest merino yarn by Anna und Juan, a worsted -weight 7-ply yarn with a perfect stitch definition and the lightness of a cloud.
