Classic knit basket in a combination of half-linen and linen stitch, knit bottom up and finished with a sturdy i-cord edging.
This multi-purpose basket is knit from the bottom up using two strands of yarn.
First, a rectangular base is knit in linen stitch. Then, the stitches are picked up around it and the body of the basket is knit in the round from the bottom up until reaching the handle opening, which is worked with a simple i-cord bind-off and cast-on.
The edge is finished with another i-cord trim. Options for felting and reinforcing the base are included in the pattern.
